The support I received from others in overcoming hurdles and challenges in my life ignited a profound desire and passion within me to help those in need. Wegene has given me the invaluable opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and to foster transformative change in our communities.

One quote that deeply resonates with me is by Barack Obama: “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, and you will fill yourself with hope.” Inspired by this philosophy, my vision for Wegene is to continue instilling hope in the impoverished communities we serve. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to realize their fullest potential.

The Wegene family—both here in the U.S. and in Ethiopia—holds a cherished place in my heart. Together, we can empower individuals, uplift communities, and foster a culture of hope and resilience. Through our collective efforts, we can pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future for all.
