Legacy of Service. A Future of Impact

For more than two decades, Wegene has been more than an organization it has been a movement rooted in compassion, community, service, and cultural connection.

The Wegene Kids’ Club was one of the most beautiful expressions of this mission. It introduced children as young as 4–5 years old to the joy of giving, helping others, and staying connected to their Ethiopian heritage. Many of those children are now young adults who continue to carry the values of service, kindness, and leadership.

Today, we are excited to bring the Wegene Kids’ Club back stronger, more intentional, and ready to inspire the next generation of changemakers.

Our Vision

To raise children who lead with heart, serve with purpose, and grow into compassionate global citizens connected to their local communities in the U.S. and their heritage in Ethiopia..

Why Wegene Kids’ Club Matters

Practice kindness, generosity, and responsibility
Build pride in their Ethiopian heritage
Understand the importance of helping vulnerable communities
Develop confidence and teamwork skills
Grow into future Wegene Youth Club leaders and lifelong volunteers

Create anything

The Wegene Kids’ Club is the beginning of a meaningful leadership journey. As children grow, they will be encouraged to transition into the Wegene Youth Club, where high school students take on leadership roles, organize service projects, and support communities in both the U.S. and Ethiopia. This pathway helps Wegene raise confident, compassionate, and service-minded young leaders.
